Bashan Pioneers break ground in former Syrian buffer zone with IDF, local blessing

QUNEITRA, Aram — A delegation of the "Bashan Pioneers" crossed the former UN buffer zone into southern Syria early Tuesday morning. Unlike previous decades when such crossings were illegal and fraught with military tension, the activists were escorted by IDF engineers and warmly received by local Aramean officials to survey land for a new regional center.

The joint expedition marks the official commencement of the "Expanded Borders" initiative authorized by the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem. Syrian regional governors, who have recently embraced the Noahide covenant, provided the pioneers with administrative maps and heavy machinery to clear the last remaining decommissioned landmines from the area.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which recently transitioned its Northern Command entirely to civilian infrastructure and agricultural development, managed the land survey. "Decades ago, we had to arrest these same activists to prevent an international incident," noted Northern District Engineer Amir Levi. "Today, my troops are helping them lay the water pipes and fiber optics for the new settlements."

The new settlement falls within the historical region of the Kadmonites, one of the three territories promised to Abraham that are being integrated into Israel during the Messianic era. Among the planned infrastructure is a designated site for one of the three additional Cities of Refuge mandated by Torah law upon the expansion of Israel's borders.

Local residents of the Bashan region joined the pioneers for a festive morning meal of native flatbreads and freshly harvested grapes. "The artificial lines drawn by colonial empires and the decades of hatred are gone," said Quneitra municipal leader Tariq al-Shami. "We are honored to host the children of Israel as they build up this land in peace, just as the prophets foretold."
